The Foush on CTV News – Google Vs. Cuil

The Foush on CTV News – Google Vs. Cuil

I was on CTV Newsnet last night talking about the new search engine “Cuil” (Pronounced Cool) and whether or not I thought it posed any threat to Google. The clip was a CTV top pick!

It was a great learning opportunity, and definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, which is a good thing.  This video is for Adam Montandon who reminded me to post this video in a timely manner and to Richard from Edmonton who was nice enough to give me some great advice.

Cuil is getting more than its fair share of attention due to its founders. I feel Viewzi deserves at least similar attention. I tested Viewzi against Google with the same query and was impressed with the stuff it found that was not in Google’s list.

Excellent clip – excellent exposure – you spoke with authority and one who should be consulted regarding constant changes in tech. Did you have to prepare much for the spot & were you aware of the questions she was going to ask?

    Hi Jeff!

I had to prepare before hand as I wasn’t sure what angle they were going to use. :)

Great job Rahaf you explained everything perfectly to the CTV audience who typically aren’t big tech people.

I agree that Cuil is getting more attention than it should because of its founders but I also believe they are doing the right things to compete with the search giant.

They will never superceed Google but they do have the chance to take on some of the smaller players and could one day potentially overtake the #2 competitor Yahoo.
